Learn Piano and Impress Your Friends!

In a group of people there is the one who can sit down at the piano and wow the crowd with his or her ability to play the piano. The rest of us just sit there and think I wish my parents had made me stay with the piano. It is possible to learn piano if starting today if you wish.

Of course, learning to play the piano takes time, effort and, yes, it takes practice. You have to find an instructor, schedule the lessons, buy the books, and sometimes buy the piano or keyboard.

Technology has gotten rid of the need to have access to a piano. Light, inexpensive keyboards allow you to literally take your music anywhere. Headphones let you play and practice just about any time.

Unless you are working with a very familiar piece, one of the hardest parts of learning a song on the piano is figuring out what the song sounds like. Technology has addressed this issue.

The availability of hundreds of sites that feature not only manuscript music but recordings of the very songs you are trying to learn. You can order lesson books on-line, the books include CDs with recordings of the songs, or the lessons, or the instructor explaining how a piece is played and how it should sound. Using only these resources, the student can learn chords, scales, and melodies.

A student can get exposure to a host of different syles: gospel, jazz, or classical. She can learn to play by ear or by note reading.

With the current line of software, CDs, DVDs, web sites, and other resources, playing the piano may not be automatic, but its not half the hassle it used to be, when your dad was made you take lessons. If you want to learn piano take action today.
