Whenever we buy a gift, we like to think it's unique. Oftentimes, a gift truly is unique. Unless it's the standard shirt, tie, scarf, etc. we want to make sure whoever we give it to knows that we put a lot of thought and time in choosing. When someone notices that their present is imaginative and creative, than the gift automatically means more. The cost is not as important as the thought. Meaningless gifts are the worst gifts. On the other hand, simple, unique gifts are usually the most appreciated and longest used. Keeping in mind that a gift is an expression of love and appreciation. It is a symbol of how much we care. With that in mind here are a few suggestions. Handmade quilts and blankets are always a favorite. These gifts are useful, and at the same time, hold a certain amount of intimacy for the giver and the receiver. Photo frames with a favorite photo matted and framed are special and tell a particular story of highlight a particularly joyful event that you shared. Flowering cacti, herbal teas, homemade cookies or embroidered scarves are all personal statements. Books are always a well-received gift, particularly if they are by a favorite author and more so if they are autographed. If you run out of ideas and find yourself desperate, find a dance class or exercise class to give as a gift. Most people will find these gifts unique and a great outlet for exercise that they might not otherwise do. |
