The Sins of The Flesh - The Series, Part 2: "Murder"

[partly from Old English morthor; partly from Old French murdre, of Germanic origin] The crime of unlawfully and un-justifiably killing another under circumstances defined by statute (as with premeditation); esp Such a crime committed purposely, knowingly, and recklessly with extreme indifference to human life or during the course of a serious felony (as robbery or rape) Murder is the taking of another's life.

The first instance of murder in scripture occurs in Genesis. Cane and Abel. Gen 4:8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. God is very specific on the punishment for murder, even tho we went from the Law of Judgment to the Law of Mercy, with the arrival of Jesus Christ, who fulfilled the Law of Judgment.

God will forgive all sin except one, that is the Blaspheme of The Holy Ghost. As God will forgive Murder we will still must pay the price for our sin. We look at the Crucifixion for an example. Luke 23:41-43; And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds( The charges that these two men were accused of were justly sentenced. For they broke laws that were punishable by death. The one man didn't denigh his guilt but accepted His punishment. Feeling only compassion for the innocent blood that was being shed.): but this man hath done nothing amiss.

( The word amiss here signifies that the crime that Jesus was accused of was false and He was guiltless.) And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.( Believing in Jesus saved this man even at the point of Death.) And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.(Here the acceptance and reward for faith and belief.) Here we see the Law of God.

Exo 21:12 He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death. Exo 21:14-15; But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die. And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death. Heb 10:28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Rom 9:15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

(Gods mercy and compassion is directed to whom He wills. Sometimes a man is spared the death penalty because of one reason or another, only know by God, and sometimes the punishment will be delivered as written. Many times a week Christian will be taken early, so that they will not lose their salvation.( My Opinion.) God knows the future. The reason that I said Many times a week Christian will be taken early, so that they will not lose their salvation. is because of this passage in Mark 13:20, And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.

This passage has many meanings one the statement that I made and 2. The end days, when the Tribulation starts. Many will not be strong enough to withstand the tribulation that will come upon mankind. Here we see the slaughter of babes because of anger and greed for power. Mat 2:16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.(Fulfilling Prophecy.) Mat 23:35 That upon you ( in other words, the blood that you have shed will be required of you also.) may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew (Murdered) between the temple and the altar.

Act 22:20 And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.( In Acts 22:20, Paul found himself consenting to a murder and took responsibility for His part in the act. Showing that God will forgive and use the guilty also for the work of the Kingdom.)
Act 5:30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew (Killed, Murdered.)and hanged on a tree. The judgment (which is coming on all of us) shall be without mercy to him who hath showed no mercy. It shall be such toward every one as every one shall have been [Bengel].

Our acts that we do in this life, must be answered for, either in this life or the next. James 2:13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment. mercy rejoiceth against judgment Mercy, so far from fearing judgment in the case of its followers, actually glorifieth against it, knowing that it cannot condemn them.
Not that their mercy is the ground of their acquittal, but the mercy of God in Christ towards them, producing mercy on their part towards their fellow men, makes them to triumph over judgment, which all in themselves otherwise deserve. End part 2 of Sins of the Flesh. ars.
