Biometric Employee Time Clocks

Most companies and government facilities have installed biometric time clock systems. These devices closely monitor the movements of people around the premises and generate reports complete with details on precise time of ins and outs.

The reports are accurate in identifying who has been in and out of a room or building on a specified date and during a specified time period. This is because biometric time clock systems identify people through body printsspecifically, fingerprints and palm prints, or images (retina of the eyes). These references are impossible to copy or forge. Unless physically present, different employees and other unauthorized personnel have no way of accessing passageways through the device.

But high-security areas are not the only places biometric time clock systems are applicable. In workplaces, it has become the device of choice for keeping time records or attendance of employees. Programmable biometric time clocks can be set to monitor several work schedules, overtime, and holiday computations. The degree of sophistication all depends on the model or design of the device.

Biometric time clocks can be mechanically connected to the door mechanism. As soon as access is granted, the door automatically opens and closes. Most devices also have voice promptersrecorded verbal directions that prompt an employee to place his or her finger on the scanner. When the finger scan is verified, it can say: You are authorized. If not, it will request the person to Please try again.

The device, through the database, keeps records of all transactions. Since the data is electronically stored, payroll can easily retrieve, file, and print it as often as needed or wanted. If devices are installed on each door (on both sides of course), the central database can monitor the entrance and exit times of each person, as there is no way anyone can pass though the door without being authorized by the devices.
