Can't Get You Off My Mind - Or Can I?

Off your mind... some keys on how to forget your ex-love more quickly...

Love, or rather, the state of being in love, is sometimes too close to obsession, especially if it is unrequited, but also when, after a major break up, you find it hard to forget the past. This is no news; singers from all traditions have sung to broken hearts and ex-partners for ages. Take Aerosmith's. Tell me what it takes to let you go, for instance, or Air Supply s can t live (if living is without you).

We ve grown to the beat of love songs, beautiful ones at that, with great music and better lyrics, but they all share quite a masochistic idea of love. We just need to stop to wonder: loves someone who does not love us any longer or who upsets our lives worthwhile?

Sex and the Perfect Lover: Tao, Tantra, and the Kama Sutra

If our love is unrequited, isn t that enough reason to stop loving? Can I be friends with someone who doesn t feel they are my friend? Being loved and having a good time are two reasons for falling for someone, but if it doesn t happen, why waste your time and insist? Our teachers and our parents teach us to remember, but nobody teaches us to forget.

The Love Diet: Expert Techniques for Sensual Pleasure and Mind-blowing Sex

If you need to get somebody off your mind, take these practical tips into account but at the same time, go over and review your ideas on love.

Keys to forget your ex:

* Imagine someone else living up to your expectations

* Avoid being alone for a long time.

* Take up those activities you ve always wanted to try.

* Open up to the chance of meeting new people.

* Take off your sight anything that reminds you of your ex-love.

* Don t listen to the music you used to listen to when you were together.

* Avoid dating in places where you used to meet your ex-love.

* Don t hang out in places where he/she hangs out.

* Draw up a list of his/her defects; it will help you forget him/her more quickly.

* Avoid meeting friends in common for a while, unless they are very close to you.

* Look for new projects concerning your work or new studies.

* Redecorate. Change couches and mirrors or whatever you feel has his/her energy.

* Take up a new hobby: painting, handicrafts, writing.

* Learn something new: playing an instrument, a language, yoga.

* Think that you have broken up with someone, but not with your ability to love.

* Subscribe for a dating or friends agency on the internet (I met my husband this way).

Remember that the word CRISIS was synonymous with opportunity for the ancient Greeks...
